The Los Angeles Chargers finished the 2020–2021 NFL season with a record of 7–9. Subsequently, the Chargers fired head coach Anthony Lynn. This offseason will be important for the Bolts. They have to capitalize on rookie phenom’s Justin Herbert cheap contact.

HC - Brandon Staley

Innovative. That was one of the words franchise owner Dean Spanos said in his statement after parting ways with Anthony Lynn.

Brandon Staley would offer just that. At 38 years old, Staley was tasked with coaching the Los Angeles Rams defense. He has delivered. The Rams have allowed an average of 18.5 points per game. They also lead the league in QB pressure. Staley should be able to improve the Chargers defense.

Free Agency

Hunter Henry- Resigning Hunter Henry should be the priority for the LA Chargers. Henry is a top 5 Tight End in the NFL when healthy. Although this year was the first time

Corey Linsley- Linsley earned first team All Pro in 2020. The center for the Packers is a free agent who would instantly improve the Charger’s Offensive Line.

Michael Davis- Resigning Michael Davis should be a priority. Davis ran a 4.34 in the 40 yard dash as well as getting 3 interceptions this year.

Alejandro Villanueva-

Draft Ideology -

Round 1: Best player available

Although the Chargers have a some holes to fill most notably in both offensive and defensive lines, the Chargers should draft the best talent available in the first round. You do not want to reach on a position just because you need to fill a hole.

Round 2: Offensive Line

The Chargers offensive line is bad. It is necessary to protect Justin Herbert if they plan on going to the Super Bowl

Round 3: Edge / CB

The Chargers have two third round picks in the 2021 Draft. Edge rusher Melvin Ingram is a free agent and did not look good in 2020. Getting Joey Bosa some help would improve the Defense. Casey Hayward is getting old and will also need to be replace soon. Drafting a CB to learn under Hayward, Davis and Harris would help the Chargers in the future.

Round 4: Linebacker

Besides Kenneth Murray and Drue Tranquil, the Linebacker room is pretty empty.

Round 5: Offensive Line

Protect Herbert.

Rounds 6 – 7 : Depth

In the final two rounds, the Chargers should get depth pieces to fill any missing holes on the roster.
