A lot of people remember Perseverance, the rover who landed on Mars back in February. And while the landing was a great feat of human engineering and math, an even greater accomplishment was Ingenuity. Ingenuity is the small helicopter aboard Perseverance who currently is the only known object to successfully fly on another planet. Ingenuity took flight on April 19th. Its first flight consisted on literally going up a couple of feet and then landing. Ingenuity will also map out the martian terrain and will investigate, pick and carry samples from Mars, alongside Perseverance. If humans are ever going to colonize mars, they will need to be able to efficiently and effectively carry materials by helicopter. Testing these prototypes now will help make the technology of the future happen.

The San Diego Padres have gone on a 9 game winning streak. Whats more impressive is that they beat the then first place Cardinals without 5 starters, including Fernando Tatis Jr. They essentially beat the Cardinals with their AAA roster, which is always pretty cool.

The Pads went on to beat the Colorado Rockies, a divisional opponent who managed to earn one run in three games. The Friars had stellar pitching, with their first three starters recording double digit strikeouts. Any more strikeouts and there would have been a potassium overdose.

The final series sweep was against a Mariners team…

LeBron has played 1310 games in the NBA over his 18 year career. He has averaged 27 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.4 assists in that 18 year career. LeBron has 4 championship rings, He is top 3 in career points and top 10 in assists. He is a freak of nature, with a height of 6 feet and 8 inches, a 40 inch vertical. His sheer talent, physicality and longevity make him a top pick for a lot of people in the G.O.A.T. debate.

This is the first reason why I don’t really like LeBron. LeBron is not responsible for…

I was chilling one day watching YouTube, when I saw a video pop into my recommended section. The video was titled “Do Schools Discriminate Against Boys?” by this channel under the name “Tomorrow’s World Viewpoint”. The video itself wasn’t that bad with the bulk of the argument and evidence coming from a paper written by Dr. Jim Dueck. Dr. Dueck has had a career in education for more than 40 years. In Canada, the grades are divided by standardized tests and classroom grades. While it’s supposed to be a 50/50 ordeal, in reality the classroom grades weigh more. …

The 2021 NFL Draft officially ended on May 1st, 2021. Many experts have praised the Los Angeles Chargers for their nine Draft selections due to the fact that the Chargers filled positions of need without trading up. The Bolts selected the following:

Round 1, Pick 13 — T — Rashawn Slater

Round 2, Pick 47 — CB -Asante Samuel Jr

Round 3, Pick 77- WR- Josh Palmer

Round 3, Pick 97- TE- Tre McKitty

Round 4, Pick 118- EDGE — Chris Rumph

Round 5, Pick 159- T- Brendan James

Round 6, Pick 185- LB- Nick Neiman

Round 6, Pick 198…

The Los Angeles Chargers finished the 2020–2021 NFL season with a record of 7–9. Subsequently, the Chargers fired head coach Anthony Lynn. This offseason will be important for the Bolts. They have to capitalize on rookie phenom’s Justin Herbert cheap contact.

HC - Brandon Staley

Innovative. That was one of the words franchise owner Dean Spanos said in his statement after parting ways with Anthony Lynn.

Brandon Staley would offer just that. At 38 years old, Staley was tasked with coaching the Los Angeles Rams defense. He has delivered. The Rams have allowed an average of 18.5 points per game…

The Friars took on the Arizona Diamondbacks on a 4 game season series that opened up their 2021 season. The Padres played from April 1st to April 4th, winning three out of the four games against the D-Backs.

Korean infielder Ha Seong Kim made his MLB debut against the D-Backs, and managed to register his first hit in the MLB. Eric Hosmer has started the season well, with 7 hits out of 11 at bats. Joe Musgrove, a San Diego native made his debut with the Padres on Saturday night, striking out 8 batters in 6 innings.

Although they won…

It seemed that the Friars was the only team making and moves during Free Agency.

It all started when they traded for Ray’s Pitcher, Blake Snell. San Diego sent over 5 prospects, with Colombian prospect Luis Patiño leading the bunch. The Padres got a former Cy Young winner who will bolster up the bullpen. That felt like the first big move from offseason.

Less then a week later the Padres made another big trade, trading for pitcher Yu Darvish and catcher Victor Caratini. Darvish had a huge 2019 season, leading the MLB in almost every pitcher metric. …

In class, we had to write a creative piece. I chose to write about a student studying abroad, writing a letter to his uncle.

Dear Unc,

How’s it going?

I have been busy these last few weeks and haven’t had the time to write to you. I am back in school and supposed to be learning things. I don’t really think that this is the case at all. All I do is go from class to class and listen to some people speak in Italian. I don’t have a lot of friends, since all of the locals don’t seem to like foreigners. I have met Baguette, a cool Frenchman, as well as Crumpets, a very funny Englishman.

I hope to return back home after this semester is over.

Cheers,

Your Nephew

Hello Mr. Lynn,

It is that time of the week again. It is time for our weekly letter of misery and disappointment.

Today I will talk about (against my will) the Chargers vs New England game.

We were out-coached, outmatched and flat out outplayed by a team who lost a lot of their starters due to COVID-19 concerns. Bill Belichick out-schemed our team with his usual squad of undrafted free agents. You and all of our coordinators were lost during the entire game.

From not putting enough players on the field to putting too many players, you and your friends…
